Hinsdale Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Care:
A Healing Combination
At Fisher Chiropractic and Integrative Health in Hinsdale, we know that accidents, injuries, and illnesses happen. Our Hinsdale chiropractors also understand that after a period of diminished movement or healing, physical rehabilitation is imperative to getting the body back into peak condition. At our clinic, we offer custom-designed physical therapy programs for those recovering from illness and injury to recover motility.

Sports Injury Hinsdale
To begin, each of our physical therapy patients are evaluated to determine their current limitations, exact needs and an appropriate course of treatment. We then take into consideration their exact type of ailment and determine the appropriate path of rehabilitation and strengthening needed. In most situations, a course of physical exercises combined with injury prevention training will be adequate to improve balance, muscle tone and function. Additionally, acupuncture and massage therapy treatment may also be recommended to enhance the results provided by physical therapy.
Infrared Therapy, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), Moist Heat Therapy, and Cyrotherapy may also be added, as needed. In Infared Therapy, infared light is applied to release natural pain killers and shorten healing time. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) therapy involves a specialized machine that produces an electric current to stimulate nerves and reduce symptoms of pain. Moist Heat Therapy, which can go deeper than a heating pad, involves adding a moist heat source directly to the place of pain to encourage circulation and blood flow. Finally, Cyrotherapy, more commonly known as cold therapy, is used to reduce inflammation or swelling in a body part or joint by using ice or low other temperature measures. Any combination of these therapies may be incorporated into the therapeutic plan depending on the goals and end results desired.
In addition to those who have suffered an injury in a car accident, worker's compensation claim or other personal injury situation, we also handle cases where a lengthy illness has left a person bedridden for an extended period of time. (An example would be a stroke.) This sedentary state usually leaves such patients in a position where they are now trying to increase stamina and/or strength in order to resume a normal lifestyle. By teaching exercises that can be completed on a daily basis in conjunction with regular adjustment, many see improved results after only a few sessions with our therapists. We also strive to teach our patients a series of exercises to help prevent further injury as they resume a normal level of activity in their lives.
Physical Therapy for Car Accident Injuries
Just about any Hinsdale pain sufferer can benefit from physical reconditioning after a personal injury. In fact, those with back pain or neck pain from an auto accident can even experience especially great results from physical rehabilitation professionals. In this type of circumstance, the physical therapy generally includes a high emphasis on exercises designed to increase range of motion in the trunk of the body and posture.
We proudly treat patients in the Hinsdale, Oakbrook, Westmont, Western Springs and Clarendon Hills areas. Those who are suffering from neck pain, back pain or other injuries can contact our clinic directly at 630-455-4545.
